URO ONCOLOGY
Comprehensive care for urinary tract and genitourinary cancers
What is Uro-Oncology?
Uro-Oncology is the branch of medicine dealing with cancers of the urinary system and male reproductive organs — for example kidney cancer, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. Early diagnosis and multidisciplinary care are key to the best outcomes.
Common signs & symptoms
- Blood in urine (hematuria)
- Unexplained weight loss or fatigue
- Persistent lower back or flank pain
- Changes in urinary habits or difficulty urinating
- Testicular lumps or swelling
Diagnostic approach
- Detailed clinical evaluation and history
- Urine tests and blood tests
- Ultrasound / CT / MRI scanning
- Cystoscopy or biopsy when indicated
- Multidisciplinary tumor board review
Treatment options
Treatment depends on cancer type and stage and may include:
- Surgical removal (open, laparoscopic, or robotic)
- Targeted therapy and immunotherapy
- Chemotherapy and radiation (when required)
- Nephron-sparing procedures (partial nephrectomy)
- Supportive and palliative care when needed
Preparing for a visit
Bring previous reports (imaging, biopsy, lab tests) and a list of current medicines. Expect a focused physical exam and possibly same-day ultrasound or blood tests depending on availability.
Why timely evaluation matters
Early detection improves treatment options and outcomes. If you notice any of the listed symptoms, contact your urology team promptly for evaluation.
Note: Replace HERO_IMAGE_URL, PHONE_NUMBER and WHATSAPP_NUMBER with actual values before publishing.
If you have diagnostic reports, upload them or bring them to your appointment. For complex cases, multidisciplinary review and second opinions are available.
